The Immigration Boom And The Economic Crisis


Indebted households, the most leveraged banks, the biggest housing boom, some of the many reasons cited by the government for the recession. Today the Prime Minister at the World Economic Forum in Davos added another - 'unsustainable levels of public spending and immigration.'

The issue of immigration has long been a political battleground. Many in the City of London fear any immigration cap will damage Britain's economic growth. David Cameron today instead arguing that there is an equally strong economic case against.

So who is right? This Sunday on Murnaghan, Dermot will be asking the Home Secretary Theresa May. We will also question if control orders have been simply been rebranded and if falling police numbers will surely lead to a rise in crime?
